CutCheck

One export. One clear check.

Start with the safe sample, then try one export from your own work. No account or card is required. Support is by asynchronous English text.

This free beta supports Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13+. Use MP4 with H.264 8-bit SDR video and AAC audio; subtitles are optional UTF-8 SRT. HEVC, HDR, ProRes, Intel Macs and Windows are outside this beta.

  1. Install and open

Open the DMG, drag CutCheck into Applications and launch it there. FFmpeg is included. Confirm the normal macOS first-open prompt if shown. If installation fails, tell us what the prompt says; do not disable macOS security settings.

  2. Run a safe practice batch

Unzip the practice files. In CutCheck, choose New project, then Add folder and select the Before folder. Check that the matching SRT and cover are linked under Delivery files. Select Full check and Scan all.

The deliberately faulty eight-second sample has black and quiet intervals and a subtitle cue beyond the video. These examples are synthetic. A long real export can take longer to check; there is no fixed scan-time promise.

  3. Review, correct and recheck

Click a finding to preview its context. Choose Confirm issue when it is a real fault. Accept only non-blocking exceptions that are intentional, with a note.

For practice, select the faulty video. Use Replace video in Delivery files to select its corrected counterpart from the Corrected folder. Replace the linked SRT with the corrected SRT too. Then choose Recheck. In Run history, compare new, persisting and resolved findings. Correct real exports in your normal editor.

  4. Export the evidence

Use Export → HTML report or JSON report. Read the check coverage and any skipped or failed checks. A report is a technical record, not a guarantee that the video has no editorial mistakes.

See the actual completed sample report.

  5. Try your next real delivery

Create a separate project for one supported export you have permission to process. Start with a short, non-critical delivery. Review the findings and export a report; do not skip your usual watch-through, content checks or YouTube processing checks.

Keep client footage and subtitles on your Mac. Tell us which finding helped, which warning wasted time, or where you got stuck. Trying the synthetic sample is practice; completing your own delivery is the milestone we want to understand.

Download the 90-second captioned walkthrough. It uses actual app screenshots, an exported report and synthetic video examples. The screenshots are static; this is not a live screen recording.

Keep a delivery checklist

Download the free export checklist. It separates checks CutCheck can assist with from the human and platform checks that still matter.

Your first two weeks

When you start, report any installation blocker. After your first real batch, send a short outcome. When your next actual delivery occurs, tell us whether you used CutCheck again. Fourteen days is a feedback window, not an expiry or a paid trial. Future pricing is undecided.
